BRIAN'S STORY

Q: Where are you from?

A: I grew up in the tight-knit farming community of Royal City, Washington. Farm life teaches you the value of a dollar and how to work hard.

Q: What inspired you to enter the world of financial planning?

A: In high school, my dad pulled my siblings and I aside to let us know that Grandpa Hervey had gifted each of us a few shares of stock in several companies. How to invest going forward was up to us. My dad helped me call his stockbroker at the time, and I remember learning about interest, dividends, and how the stock market works. It was a hook, line, and sinker moment—I was captivated.

Q: Where did you go to school?

A: After graduating high school, I went on to Linfield University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Finance and a minor in Economics. I’ve also gone on to earn my Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Q: Why North Ridge?

A: I founded North Ridge so I could do the right thing for clients. Period. I love being part of a team that helps individuals define success on their terms.
